Peak Seasons and Low Seasons – Kauai Travel Deals

Kauai is an amazing place to visit at any time of the year. If you are planning a Kauai vacation; however, it pays to consider several factors before you choose your travel date and arrange your Kauai accommodations.

Any Kauai vacation plans you make should take into account several factors that will help you tailor your vacation to your particular needs. These factors include how much you want to spend, where you would like to stay, and what activities and Kauai experiences you plan on enjoying during your stay.

Some visitors are most concerned about ensuring that they have a sunny Hawaiian beach experience, while others are most focused on conquering the Kalalau Trail, hiking through a high rainforest, ziplining down a mountainside, or kayaking the Na Pali Coast.

When considering whether to travel during a peak season or a low season, the concern for vacationers is not so much about crowds since the beaches on Kauai are never overly crowded and there is plenty of room for everyone.

The main concern with traveling during a peak season is that travel prices are typically higher during these times, as are accommodation prices and also the costs of some activities. In addition, reservations may be more difficult to secure, or you may have a smaller range of choices as far as dates and times.

However, if you plan your Kauai vacation well in advance it should be no more difficult or expensive to visit Kauai during a peak season. If you are making your plans at the last minute then you may need to search around to try to find a good deal, and there is also a chance that you may benefit from someone else’s last minute cancellation.

Hawaii’s peak travel seasons are from January through March,  from June through September, and especially the last two weeks in December when many mainland areas are snowbound.

Japanese holidays at the end of April can make it a very busy travel time for Japanese visitors. This is known at Golden Week and it is most noticeable in the Waikiki area, with less of an effect on Kauai travel.

From the middle of June until August are very popular weeks for families to visit Kauai since most children are out of school. Kauai vacationers coming during this busier time should make sure to plan ahead.

In contrast, visitors coming during a low season in Kauai are more likely to find good travel deals. The period from November to mid-December is traditionally a low travel season.

During this slower travel time you may have better luck finding flights, Kauai accommodations, and also good deals on activities such as helicopter tours and humpback whale watching tours.
